Downy Mildew Rate Correction

There was an error in the application rate for Ranman 400 SC fungicide listed in the 2009 Downy Mildew Control Strategy for Cucurbits.  The correct rate is 60-80 mL/acre.  This only applies to the rate per acre.  The metric rate is correct.  This error also appeared in the following Vegetable Crop Updates:

The on-line versions of these documents have been corrected.

Downy Mildew was identified in Kent County on Friday, June 27, 2009.  All cucumber growers are advised to maintain a 7-day fungicide spray schedule rotating between Ranman 400SC and Tattoo C.  These two products provide the most consistent control of this highly destructive disease.

Use the high rate of these products under prolonged wet weather conditions or if the crop canopy has begun to close.
